Voyko Yerich creates people-focused images which stir up hidden feelings evoked by long-lost memories of past experiences. He approaches creative shoots and personal projects without a firm plan in place, preferring to let intuition and emotion dictate the direction of the work. He likes to feel a visceral connection with his work and hopes that, by choosing images which evoke such feelings in himself, he will deliver a powerful experience to those who view his work. Voykos work demonstrates bold use of colour, character and props and dramatic use of light. He uses photography to connect the places, spaces, people and objects which hold meaning for him, catching them in a moment in time and using them as symbols to inspire feelings and emotions in the viewer. His preferred styles are documentary, fashion and portraiture, modes of photography which allow him to tell stories and focus on the details of character studies. Born in Slovenia, trained in Italy and now working in London, Voyko is a creative and experimental photographer who allows his physical and emotional path through Europe to influence his work.
